Putting on A Show with Mobile Wheelchair Lifts at the Family Fun Day 2019

Adaptive Concepts Ltd is delighted to have been a part of the 2019 Family Fun Day at Rotary Challenger Park on June 22. The day was a great success and a credit to the organizers!

Our small role was to demonstrate the Lift2Go and the Mobilift  (www.adaptivelifts.com/cx.html) to any of the attendees who were curious. Lots of folks were interested and took the time to view and try out both devices. Even Farley the Fox, the mascot for the Calgary Hitmen Hockey team, got in on the action.

Our brand ambassador, Cathy, joined us for the day as our volunteer wheelchair model. As a special treat we were able to use the Mobilift to allow Cathy to board the CPR Puffer Belly Express miniature train ride. The Mobilift was originally designed for trains and it excelled in this role!

But the users who stole our hearts for the day were definitely the PADS guide-dogs-in-training. PADS is a non-profit organization that trains dogs to be companions and service animals for people with disabilities. Wheelchair lifts can pose special challenges to service dogs because they have many moving parts, are unfamiliar, and there are few opportunities to practice with a wide variety of them. As a result, Adaptive and PADS took the opportunity to do some impromptu training using the Mobilift. Everything went perfectly and the dogs notched up another success in their long course of training.

A wonderful day was had by all!
